Le Voyage Dans La Lune

A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans la Lune)

A 1902 French silent film directed by Georges Méliès. Inspired by a wide variety of sources, including Jules Verne's novels From the Earth to the Moon and Around the Moon, the film follows a group of astronomers who travel to the Moon in a cannon-propelled capsule, explore the Moon's surface, escape from an underground group of Selenites (lunar inhabitants), and return with a splashdown to Earth with a captive Selenite.
Air (a music duo from Versailles, France, consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel.) created an album that was inspired by the 1902 silent science fiction film.

The album was inspired by the 1902 silent science fiction film A Trip to the Moon and is intended to be a soundtrack to the restored version of the film.
I'm absolutely in love with how they worked on restoring this interesting picture. The digital version below is the newly restored and colourised sixteen-minute film along with Air's music, was released as a strictly limited edition.
